There is a reason schools think twice before messaging every parent: SMS and WhatsApp both charge for it. So the reminder goes to the defaulters only, the notice goes up on a board instead, and the parents who most need telling are the ones who miss it. Telegram's cost per message is nothing at all. From this week it is a full channel inside EDII — the same fee, attendance, homework and notice messages, carried free — and it reaches the families the app never did, because joining takes a scan and one tap.

Telegram: the same messages, at no cost per message
- A third channel, and this one is free. Find it at Messaging → Telegram. Your school's EDII messages — fees, attendance, homework, notices — now go out over Telegram as well, and Telegram does not charge per message. Nothing else changes: the same senders, the same school settings, the same parent mutes.
- It reaches the families the app never did. Joining needs no EDII app and no password. It works for every parent whose phone number is saved in the student's record — including a number saved against several children — so families who never got round to installing the app can still be reached.
- A poster for the notice board. Print it, or paste it into the school diary. A parent scans the code, taps Start in Telegram and shares their phone number — that is the whole process. Copy link gives you the same joining link to drop into a parents' group.
- Send to the whole school, a class, or one section. Type the message, choose who it goes to, and the page tells you how many students' parents it will reach before you send. These go to Telegram only and do not appear in the parent app.
- See exactly who has joined. Joined Parents lists them by class and section, with how each one joined and when, and a search by student name — so you know how much of the school you can really reach this way before you rely on it.
- Parents join from the app too, and leave when they like. In the Student & Parent app, Profile → Settings → Notifications → Get notifications on Telegram opens Telegram and links every child signed in on that phone. The app carries on exactly as before, and sending /stop to the EDII bot ends the Telegram messages at once.
- What a parent needs. Only the Telegram app on their phone, and their number saved in the student's record at school.

Paying fees online, rebuilt for the phone
- One month per row, not a table to drag sideways. On a phone each month is now its own row, with the amount still due in large type and a tick box beside it, instead of a wide table a parent had to scroll across to find the balance. Tap a month to select it.
- The total matches what the payment window asks for. The total for the selected months sits directly above Proceed to Pay and now includes any convenience fee, so there is no surprise on the next screen.
- A Payment received card that stays on screen. It holds the Payment ID and Order ID, in place of a message that vanished within two seconds before the page reloaded, and Check updated fees shows the updated months once the receipt is in.
- It accepts what a parent actually types. A mobile number with +91, a leading 0 or spaces is recognised, and so is a student ID in small letters or with a stray space. The ID box now opens the capital-letter keyboard.
- Indian amounts, and a readable status bar. Every amount reads ₹1,26,500 rather than the international grouping, and the Monthly Payment Status bars no longer shrink to slivers on a small screen. On a computer the month-by-month table stays, now headed by your school's name with clearer labels — Enrollment / ID / Roll No. and Registered Mobile No.
- The mobile number can be made optional, on request. Where a school asks for it, parents need only the student ID to see and pay — which helps families who use more than one number. It stays off unless a school asks, because without the number anyone who knows a student ID could see that child's fees.

An invoice that says what it is for
- The month is the headline. Open an invoice from Invoices → View and the month it covers is the first thing on it, with the billing period and session beneath, and the amount due beside a Paid, Unpaid or Partly paid label.
- Cleaner to print or save. It carries the amount in words, your school's branch and phone, and Indian-format amounts. Payment details sit in one box — pay online from Invoices, or by bank transfer or cheque — paid months carry a PAID stamp, and it prints on a single A4 page.

Teacher app: pictures in notifications, and grades on Enter Marks
- A notification can carry a picture. It appears in your Notifications list and opens full screen when tapped; on Android the picture shows in the notification itself.
- The unread count is right the moment you look. The bell on Home shows your unread count as soon as the app opens, when you come back to it, and the instant a new one arrives.
- Enter a grade, not just a mark. A grade such as A, B+ or A1 can now be entered or changed for a student on Enter Marks, and the keyboard offers letters as well as numbers so it can be typed straight in.
- Bulk Marks Entry stops cutting entries short. A cell now accepts a longer entry, so a full grade or remark survives.
