Set up once

Link your EDII account in four steps.

You need the Amazon Alexa app, signed in with the same Amazon account as your Echo, and the mobile number registered with your child's school.

Enable EDII bot

In the Amazon Alexa app open More, then Skills & Games, search for EDII bot and tap Enable to Use.

Enter your mobile number

Tap Link Account, enter the mobile number registered with your child's school and tap Send code on WhatsApp.

Enter the code

Type the code you receive and tap Verify code. If your school gave you a fixed EDII login code, you can use that.

Choose your child

Choose your child and tap Link with Alexa. You are taken back to the Alexa app, and you are done.

Then just ask

Start with results. Ask about anything else too.

Say "Alexa, ask eddie bot" and your question, or say "Alexa, open eddie bot" and keep asking one question after another.

Say it as "eddie bot". More than one child on your number? Say "Alexa, ask eddie bot to switch to" and your child's name. When there are several exams, Alexa reads a short numbered list: just say the number.

What parents ask

Does it cost anything?

EDII bot is free to enable. It works for parents and guardians of students at schools that use EDII.

Which devices does it work on?

Any Amazon Echo, or the Alexa app on your phone, with Alexa set to English in India.

Will other people hear my child's marks?

Alexa reads answers out loud, including marks and fees, so keep that in mind on a shared speaker. EDII bot only ever answers about your own child, never another student.

How do I unlink?

In the Alexa app, go to More, Skills & Games, Your Skills, EDII bot, and tap Disable Skill. To stop Alexa mid-answer, say "Alexa, stop".

My number isn't accepted, or no code arrives.

Use the mobile number your child's school has on record. If it has changed, ask the school office to update it in EDII, then try again.

My child isn't listed, or an answer looks out of date.

Answers come from your school's EDII records. Please contact the school office; they can check your child's details.

Alexa says it doesn't know the skill.

Check that EDII bot shows as enabled under Your Skills in the Alexa app, then say "eddie bot" clearly. Is your data safe? See Security & trust.
