Data Protection

Privacy Policy for
EDII Products & Apps

Learn how our education platform, EDII School, EDII Transport and EDII Sales apps collect, use and protect your information.

We Never Sell Your Data

EDII does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. Your educational data remains private and secure.

This privacy policy applies to the education platform, EDII School, EDII Transport and EDII Sales apps operated by Edii Software and Solution LLP. The product-specific sections explain which information each app uses. EDII School is the app for school staff (teachers, gate and security staff, librarians and office staff). EDII Sales is an internal customer relationship management (CRM) app for authorized EDII sales staff using company accounts.

Note: Please review this policy periodically for updates. Where an app needs your permission to access sensitive information, it explains the use in the app and asks for permission before access.

1. Collection of Personal Information

Our education platform uses the information listed below to provide learning services. The EDII School, EDII Transport and EDII Sales sections explain the additional information used by those apps.

Information We Collect:

  • Student Learning Data: Performance metrics, learning patterns, assessment results, and progress tracking for AI personalization
  • Account Information: Email address, name, school affiliation, grade level, and role (student/teacher/administrator)
  • Educational Content: Submitted assignments, quiz responses, and educational materials for AI analysis and improvement
  • Usage Analytics: How you interact with our AI tools, time spent on activities, and feature usage patterns
  • Device Information: Browser type, IP address, device identifiers for security and platform optimization
  • Location Data: EDII Transport collects a bus driver's precise location during an active trip, as described below. EDII Sales takes a foreground location fix when a sales representative taps "Log visit", as described in the EDII Sales section. EDII School reads a staff member's location only at the moment they tap Punch in or Punch out, at schools that use app attendance, as described in the EDII School section. EDII does not collect location from student or parent app users.
  • Payment Information: Billing details for institutional subscriptions (processed securely through encrypted payment gateways)

Location Data in EDII Transport

In EDII Transport, location is used only to operate a school's bus-tracking service, never for advertising, never for profiling, and it is never sold. Specifics:

  • Whose location: only the bus driver's device, and only while that driver is running an assigned trip in the EDII Transport driver app.
  • Background collection: location is shared while the app is in the background and the screen is off, because the driver is driving. A persistent notification is shown for the whole time location is being shared.
  • Who can see it: staff at the driver's own school, and the parents or guardians of the students assigned to that route. It is not visible to other schools or to the public.
  • Why we keep it: trip history, distance travelled, stop arrival times and safety alerts (for example, a bus that has gone unexpectedly silent).
  • How to stop it: end the trip in the app, or withdraw the app's location permission in the device settings. A driver may also ask their school to remove their driver profile, which stops all collection.

EDII School: Staff App for Teachers, Gate, Library and Office

EDII School is used by school staff with an account their school creates in EDII. Each person sees only the tools and school records their role allows.

  • What the app uses: your user ID and the school records your role lets you see, and what you enter in the app: attendance, homework and feedback, marks, student notes, updates to parents, library issues and returns, incident reports and shift handovers. Photos and PDFs you attach to homework are uploaded to the school's EDII storage.
  • Visitors and student pickups: the names and phone numbers of visitors and of guardians collecting a student, the purpose of the visit, and the type of ID checked at the gate. The app does not store the ID number or a copy of the document.
  • Notifications: the device's push notification token, platform and app version, used only to deliver school notifications such as a visitor waiting for you.
  • Location for punch in and out: at schools that use app attendance, the app reads your device's location only at the moment you tap Punch in or Punch out, and saves it with that attendance record. It does not collect location in the background.
  • AI drafts: before EDII prepares its first AI draft, the app asks your permission, and you can turn EDII AI off in the app at any time. Drafts (homework feedback, lesson help, incident reports, handovers, reminders and Ask EDII answers) are produced on EDII's servers with AI service providers that process each request on EDII's behalf, using school information you can already see. EDII keeps each draft with the sources it was based on. You review and edit every draft before it is added to school records or sent, and you can report any draft that is wrong or offensive from the app.
  • No ads or tracking: EDII School shows no ads, does not track you across other apps or websites, and sends no crash or usage analytics. Information is sent over HTTPS.
  • Accounts and deletion: accounts are created and managed by your school. To close an account or ask for your data to be deleted, contact your school or email contact@edii.in.

EDII Sales: Call Logs, School Visits and Sales Records

EDII Sales helps authorized staff contact schools, record outcomes, arrange follow-ups and report sales activity. It uses your company account identity and sales role to associate records with you and control access.

  • Phone and call log access: After an in-app explanation and your agreement, the app uses Phone access to call a school you choose and detect when the call ends. It reads call-log numbers, dates, durations, call types and available SIM slot information only to find calls with the schools you work on in the app (schools you called, visited or messaged on WhatsApp from it): calls placed through the app, calls you make to these schools from your phone's own dialer, and incoming, missed or declined calls from these schools. Matching happens on the phone; call-log entries for any other number are not uploaded or saved. The app does not record call audio or read SMS messages.
  • Saved call records: When you save a call outcome, the school and contact details, number, call time, duration, direction, available SIM slot, outcome, notes and follow-up date are sent to EDII's sales system with your account identity, device identifier and app version. For calls placed through the app, the time from dialling to hang-up is also sent, so ringing can be told apart from talking. Calls and call-backs waiting for an outcome and unsynced records may be kept on the device; queued records are retried when connectivity returns, and a record the server does not accept is kept on the device so you can send it again.
  • Calls with schools: For each call found in the call log with one of your schools (received, missed, declined, or made from your phone's dialer), the school, number, time, duration, call type, SIM slot and what you did about it (saved an outcome, skipped, dismissed or called back) are sent to EDII's sales system with your account identity, device identifier and app version. Managers use this to see calls received from schools, whether missed calls were returned, and calls made outside the app. If you mark a dialer call as not a work call, its number, time and duration are removed and it is left out of every report; only the date and school are kept, so the same call is not uploaded again.
  • Location for school visits: With your permission, tapping "Log visit" takes a foreground location fix, including coordinates, accuracy and time. Saving the visit sends this information with the school, person met, outcome, notes and follow-up date to EDII's sales system to document the visit and its distance from the school. If the school has no map pin, a sufficiently accurate visit location may establish that pin. EDII Sales does not continuously track your location or collect location in the background.
  • Other sales activity: We store follow-ups, proposal or agreement requests, and the recipient, selected message template, time and the app that opened (WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business or the browser) for WhatsApp follow-ups you start through the app. This is recorded only once WhatsApp opens and does not confirm that a message was sent or delivered. You choose whether to send the message in WhatsApp; its handling of that message is governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy.
  • Work activity and diagnostics: The app records how it is used and how the phone is working, so problems can be fixed and sales activity reported accurately: app opens and closes, the steps of each call, failed visit attempts, records the server could not accept, errors and freezes, and phone details (model, Android and app version, how the app was installed, network and SIM carrier, battery and power settings, the phone's clock, permissions, whether you accepted the call-log notice, and how many records are waiting to sync). It never includes IMEI, SIM serial number, subscriber ID, your phone number or cell location. Diagnostics are visible only to authorized EDII staff and are kept for 180 days.
  • Notifications and device identifiers: If you enable reminders, the app uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and sends its push registration token, platform and app version to EDII to deliver reminders and team booking alerts. Local reminders may be scheduled on the device when push delivery is unavailable. Notifications can be turned off in Android settings.
  • Use and access: Sales data is used for school follow-ups, visit verification, team coordination and activity reporting. Managers review each representative's daily activity (calls, visits, follow-ups, calls from schools and whether they were returned) in EDII's sales system, and authorized EDII staff receive a daily summary of it by email and app notification. The app sends sales records to EDII over HTTPS. Authorized EDII staff and managers can access records according to their sales permissions. Service providers supporting hosting and notification delivery process the information needed to provide those services. Sales call-log and visit-location data is not sold or used for advertising.
  • Your controls: You can decline the in-app permission requests or revoke Phone, Call log and Location permissions in Android settings. Without call-log access, measured call tracking is unavailable; without suitable location access, a visit cannot be logged. Revoking permission stops future access through that permission and does not delete records already saved. You can tap Not now on the call-log notice: calls from schools and dialer calls are then not recorded (the app asks again after 7 days). You can mark any dialer call as not a work call when the app asks about it.
  • Retention and deletion: We retain saved sales records for follow-up, reporting and legitimate business record requirements as described in Data Retention and Deletion. To request access, correction or deletion of your Sales data, email contact@edii.in and identify your EDII Sales account. Requests are reviewed subject to applicable record-retention obligations; signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete server records.

EDII Learn External Learners

For the optional EDII Learn external-learner experience, a parent or guardian provides a parent e-mail and confirms consent before a child profile is created. We use the child’s name, board, class, age band, medium, lesson progress, quiz attempts and AI usage to provide the requested learning service. The profile is isolated from school records and is not assigned a school ID.

AI features used by external learners are paid for by usage, at the rate shown in the app before any charge, and are subject to daily usage limits. Chapters, quizzes and progress remain available without paid AI usage. AI usage, charges, support requests and device/IP security signals are recorded to enforce limits and protect the service.

Parents/guardians can request support, ask Sales to review a class or board correction, or delete the external account from the app. Deletion revokes active tokens and removes the learner’s conversations, progress and support tickets; a minimal non-identifying abuse-prevention record may be retained where required for service protection or legal compliance. Contact contact@edii.in for access, correction or deletion help.
