Clear a year, safely

A school's data can now be cleared for a single academic year — or for all of them — from a new Data Reset page. It is admin only, protected by an OTP, shows the exact record count before anything is removed, and backs up everything it takes so it can be put back. Alongside it: watch an AI exam being generated live, real analytics on the Master Transaction Report, and a redesigned sign-in page that shows platform status and offers help before you log in.

Data Reset, with a backup Sharper fee reports 14 updates

Last week was for the classroom. This week is for the things a school only needs occasionally, but needs to be able to trust completely. Chief among them: clearing a year's data — the sort of operation most software either refuses to offer or offers far too casually. EDII now does it with an OTP, an exact preview, an explicit list of what survives, and a backup you can restore from. Around it, three quieter wins: AI exam generation you can actually watch, a Master Transaction Report that finally analyses what it collects, and a new sign-in page.

Clear a school's data for a year — safely

One year, or all of it. A new Data Reset page under Configuration → Preferences clears a school's data for a single academic year, or for every year at once — the honest way to hand a demo branch back, retire a closed session, or start a fresh school on a database that already has practice data in it.
See the exact count before anything goes. The page previews how many records sit in every area — students, fees, attendance, exams and the rest — and lists in plain words what will be kept, so nothing is a surprise.
Admin only, OTP and a typed confirmation. Only an admin can open it, an OTP is sent to the school's registered email, and the confirmation has to be typed out. Your own login and the school's main login always survive a reset.
Everything removed is backed up first. Every reset is archived and listed under Past resets, from where it can be put back. Switch on Also delete setup to include the fee structure, discounts, instalments, bus stops, classes and subjects as well.

Watch an AI exam being written

Live progress for every class and section. After you create an AI exam (Exams → Add AI Exam) the page no longer goes quiet. Each class and section shows its own progress bar with the current step and how many question batches are done, turning into a tick when it finishes.
Carry on while it works. A View AI Tests button takes you straight to the finished papers, and you can start creating the next exam while the previous one is still generating.
The quality review runs only when you ask. Opening a paper under AI Generated Exams → View Questions no longer starts a review on its own. Papers never reviewed show a note pointing to the Quality Check button, and the review runs when you click it.

Fee reports that answer more questions

The Master Transaction Report now comes with real analytics. Daily and monthly collection trends, payment modes, collections by class and by class-section, cashier performance, fee-head and fee-category totals, top student payments, payment-time patterns, discount bands and bus-fee collections — all in clean, responsive cards, with a proper message when a period has nothing to show.
List collections from students without transport. Tick Without transport only on the Master Transaction Report to see collections from students who have no bus route or stop for the session — useful when reconciling bus fees against who actually rides.
Head Wise Fee Register, by class and section. Pick one or more classes and sections alongside the date range to narrow the register — or leave them blank for the whole school, exactly as before.

A new front door, and help within reach

Sign-in and school registration, redesigned. Both screens now use the new EDII design across desktop, tablet and mobile — clearer actions, accessible form controls, responsive school imagery, and the same username, Google and phone sign-in you already use.
Live platform status on the login page. The login screen now shows whether the platform is healthy and which version of EDII you are on — and if the status check itself is unavailable, it quietly steps aside rather than holding up your login.
Get help before you even sign in. Need help? on the login screen opens every way to reach us in one place — WhatsApp or call +91 78294 67111, or email contact@edii.in. If you have typed your school ID into the username box, it is already written into the WhatsApp message for you.
Edit a support ticket straight after raising it. The create-ticket window now shows the new ticket number with an Edit Ticket button, so you can correct the summary or add detail without hunting for the row in the list. The ticket detail window has one too, and the list refreshes itself after an update.

The dangerous button, built carefully.

Deleting a year of a school's records is the one operation you only want to perform once, and only exactly as intended. So it is admin only, it asks for an OTP, it counts every record before it touches anything, it tells you plainly what it will keep — and it archives everything it removes so a mistake is recoverable. The rest of the week went to making the everyday screens sharper: AI exams you can watch being written, fee collections you can actually analyse, and a front door worth walking through. More next week.
