Week of 21-27 July 2026: The Biggest Teacher App Update Ever

Most weeks this page is about the office — fees, reports, transport. This week belongs to the phones. The Teacher App got its largest update since launch: it now plans a teacher's morning, keeps the whole picture of every student one tap away, and quietly does the writing a teacher shouldn't have to do. The Student & Parent App got a complete new look. Both updates are already on Google Play and the Apple App Store — teachers and parents just need to update the app, and the new screens appear.

Teacher App: a Home screen that plans the day

Home is now a Today worklist. The app opens on what actually needs you: classes whose attendance is not yet marked, the period happening right now, any cover duty, and the next school event. Search and Quick Access are still there, just below.

Clearer names for the day's tabs. Home is now called Today, and a new My Day tab replaces Schedule — names that match what teachers actually use them for.

My Training. Teachers can browse the school's training paths and their modules from the phone — on the Home screen, or by searching "Training".

The whole student, on one screen

The student profile is now a hub. Photo and basics, this month's attendance with the exact days missed, and the latest behaviour notes — all on one screen, opened from Search Students.

A marks trend on every profile. The last 8 tests with marks and percentage, so a dip is visible the moment the profile opens — not after digging through registers.

Behaviour Notes. Keep a running timeline of observations for any student — Academic, Behaviour, Health or Other — so the story travels with the child, not with whoever happened to notice.

Roll number and date of birth, right there. Both now appear on the student's profile — date of birth sits under Student Information alongside the parents' names and contact details — and both can be edited on Edit Student.

The report card, one tap away. Open any student's report card straight from their profile.

A Self-Learn summary on the profile. How the student is using Self-Learn, on the same screen as everything else about them.

Catch a slipping student early

At-Risk Students. Students flagged for repeated or falling attendance, grouped by how serious it is, with the parent's name beside each — tap one to open their profile.

Absentee Follow Up. A new screen listing today's absent students with their attendance percentage and a warning for anyone absent several days in a row. Call the parent, send them a WhatsApp message (the teacher always confirms first), log a note, and set each student's follow-up status — reachable straight after saving attendance.

Class Performance. Class averages, pass rates, a subject-by-subject breakdown, toppers, the most improved — and the students who are slipping. On Home, or search "Class Performance".

Self-Learn Progress. See which students in a class are using Self-Learn, how far they've reached, and who is stuck.

AI that does the writing for you

PTM Prep. Before a parent meeting, generate a one-page briefing for any student: an opening line, discussion points, a question to ask, and a follow-up plan. Open a student, tap PTM Prep.

Parent messages, drafted for you. On Absentee Follow Up, tap "Draft messages with AI" to get a short message for each absent student's parent. The teacher edits and approves every message — nothing is ever sent automatically.

Homework written from one line. Describe the homework in a sentence and get ready-to-edit text in English or Hindi, right inside the Assign form.

AI Question Papers. Browse every AI-generated paper for your school, filter by subject and class, see the topics covered, and regenerate a paper's PDF.

Ask EDII knows where you came from. Tap Ask EDII from Marks, My Day or a student's profile, and the question is already written for you.

Speak instead of typing. Tap the mic to dictate a behaviour note or an absentee follow-up note, and the app writes it down for you to edit.

Scan pages with the camera. Capture a worksheet page by page and attach it to homework as a single PDF.

Works without signal, and sips data

Attendance and Copy Check now work offline. Mark the register with no signal and the app saves it, then syncs by itself the moment you're back online. No more standing by the window to submit attendance.

Far less mobile data. Homework attachments, student photos and Buzz images now download only when they come on screen, and images you've already seen are never downloaded again.

Dozens of small touches. Marks entry opens the number keypad instead of the letter keyboard; the fee report shows months as "Jul 2026" instead of a code; adding an exam now checks every field and clears the form so the same exam can't be created twice by mistake; Copy Check remembers the last class and section you used; error messages read as plain English everywhere; pull down to refresh on Home, Attendance, Marks, Exams and Notifications; and signing out now clears your account data from the device.

The Student & Parent App, redesigned

A complete new look. Every screen of the app parents open daily has been redesigned in one clean, consistent style — brighter cards, clearer colours, and five simple tabs: Home, Learn, Progress, AI and Profile.

Homework, rebuilt. The homework screen has been redesigned so a parent can see at a glance what's due, what's coming and what's already done.

Pay fees the way your school collects them. If your school collects fees in fixed instalments — say, three months at a time — the app now offers exactly those instalments. Selecting any month brings the rest of its instalment along, so what parents pay online matches what the fee counter would ask for.

An attendance calendar that shows presence too. The Attendance calendar now marks the days your child was present — not just the absences — so a month of good attendance finally looks like one.

On the web: WhatsApp you can top up, and a sharper defaulter list

WhatsApp gets its own place in the menu. Everything WhatsApp now lives together under Messaging → WhatsApp — the WhatsApp Report has moved here from under SMS, beside the new Balance & Buy page. Typing "whatsapp" into the sidebar search finds both.

See your WhatsApp message balance. The Balance & Buy page shows how many WhatsApp messages your school has left — free messages and purchased balance separately — along with how many you've used in total. Every school starts with 100 free messages, and purchased messages never expire.

Buy more messages online. When the free messages run out, buy more from the same page — priced per message at your school's rate, bought in packs, and paid by card, UPI or netbanking. Messages are added the moment payment succeeds, and a reminder appears when the balance runs low, so messages to parents are never interrupted.

Defaulter List, month by month. A new report lists every student who still owes fees — one row each, with a separate column for every month of the session showing exactly how much is outstanding that month. Alongside sit the admission and roll number, both parents' contact numbers, transport route, category and house, this year's Balance, any Ledger Balance carried from last session, the combined Net Balance and the months still due. Under Unpaid & Defaulters → Defaulter List (Month-wise) — pick the class and section, then print or download to Excel.

The office had its turn. This week was for the classroom.

For months these updates have been about the school office — fees, reports, buses. This week the phones caught up. The Teacher App now starts a teacher's day for them, keeps every student's whole story one tap away, and writes the routine messages so teachers don't have to.
